From cold chain to shelf, every batch ships before it expires
HaROS combines batch and expiry tracking, the FEFO shipping rule and a demand-based production-distribution plan on one platform. The cold chain record comes out as an audit-ready report.
A supply chain where every day counts
Cold chain, short shelf life and fluctuating demand call for a distinct operating discipline in food and beverage.
Cold chain continuity
Every step of temperature-controlled transport from warehouse to store must be on record. A single break puts product quality and safety at risk.
temperature logBatch and expiry confusion
Several batches of the same product with different dates can be in stock at once. Tracking by hand which one goes out first is error-prone.
batch trackingRecall speed
When a quality issue arises, you need to quickly find which stores the batch went to and when. A late response magnifies the risk.
recall · traceabilityDemand swings
Season, weather and campaigns change demand quickly. If the plan reacts late, stockouts and overproduction happen at the same time.
seasonal demandSpoilage and waste
For short-shelf-life products, wrong sequencing, delayed shipping or a wrong order quantity increases waste. Every unit of waste comes straight out of profitability.
waste reductionAudit readiness
In audits you need to present the traceability record quickly and completely. If records are scattered, the audit drags on.
traceability recordBatch and expiry information is visible on every screen
HaROS tracks each batch end to end with its batch number and expiry date. FEFO is applied automatically at shipping; when a recall is issued, you can quickly query which shipments the batch went to.
- Every batch is recorded with its production date, expiry date and warehouse location
- The system determines the shipping order according to the FEFO rule
- In a recall, the stores the batch went to are listed instantly
- Kahin demand forecasting directly feeds the production and distribution plan
Batch, expiry and distribution screen — illustrative data
Modules that work together from cold chain to shelf
Planning is at the center. HaROS WMS protects the cold chain in the warehouse and HaROS TMS (Shipment Management) on the road.
Production and distribution based on demand
Kahin produces a demand forecast by analyzing sales, historical data, live stock and traffic. Production quantity and the distribution plan are shaped by this forecast; overproduction and stockouts decrease together.
Cold chain warehouse operation
Batch-based warehouse placement, temperature log and picking tasks by FEFO. The system decides which batch goes out first.
Cold chain transport
Route and temperature tracking in cold chain vehicles. Which batch went with which vehicle to which store is entered into the traceability record.
Results measured on one platform
Figures reflect platform-wide outcomes; they are not a published result for this sector.
Frequently asked questions
Does HaROS guarantee compliance with food regulation?
No, it does not give a compliance guarantee. HaROS records batch, expiry, temperature and shipping data end to end and produces an audit-ready traceability report. Responsibility for compliance stays with you; HaROS supports it with data.
How is the FEFO rule applied, and is manual intervention needed?
FEFO is applied automatically in shipping and picking tasks; the system always suggests the batch with the nearest expiry first. In exceptions such as a special campaign or customer request, an authorized user can override the rule manually.
How quickly can I find where a batch went in a recall?
When you enter the batch number, all stores, dates and quantities that batch went to are listed instantly. Speed depends on complete records; HaROS keeps this record continuously.
What data does demand forecasting work with?
Kahin analyzes sales, historical data, live stock and traffic. Seasonality and the campaign calendar are also taken into account. Details are on the Demand Forecasting page.
Which devices does cold chain temperature data come from?
Data from warehouse and vehicle sensors is transferred to HaROS through integration. We determine together, before setup, how to connect your existing sensors.
